Dash is our resilient 10-year-old mini rescue gelding with a heartwarming story of transformation. When I first visited CCR with my daughter, Dash, a little 9ish hh, bay mini, was tucked away in the back of a field, completely shut down and fearful. Curious about his situation, I learned that he had been at the rescue for a while and faced significant challenges due to past trauma, making him hard to adopt. With a year of stability, safety, and patience, Dash has blossomed through slow desensitization and respectful training. He’s learning that running isn’t the answer and is now approaching us with newfound trust. Dash stands calmly for bodywork and grooming, and he has formed close friendships with several members of our herd.

Originally described as a “VERY SWEET but VERY SCARED” black gelding, Dash has proven to be the biggest project among our ponies. His journey hasn’t always been easy, but each day brings progress.

We believe he has the potential to make a wonderful kids' pony in the future but he doesn’t ever have to. He can just be and show others that past trauma doesn’t have to define you or your future. With continued love and training, he’s proving that he can overcome his fears and shine. This gentle soul has so much to give, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!
